Day 1 • Chicago, IL: A lovely travel day starts our great adventure. We overnight in the Windy City.

Day 2 • Eagan, MN: Enjoy the sweet sensations at the Jelly Belly plant in Pleasant Prairie, WI, home of the original gourmet jelly bean. After lunch in lovely Wisconsin Dells, continue to our hotel in Eagan. (B, L)

Day 3 • Winnipeg, MB: Today we stop for pictures at the Minnesota State Capitol as well as the Cathedral of St. Paul. Our journey takes us through North Dakota and into Canada today, with overnight in Winnipeg. (B)

Day 4 • Regina, SK: Today enjoy Canada’s great prairie land en route to Regina, the capital of Saskatchewan. Our hotel is near a casino and shopping mall and has an indoor waterworks complex. (B)

Day 5 • Edmonton, AB: Continue through the Great White North today, stopping for photos at the Our Lady of the Highway Shrine and the Unkranian Easter Egg Weather Vane in Vegreville. Our hotel tonight is in Edmonton. (B)

Day 6 • Grande Prairie, AB: A local guide joins us for a tour of Edmonton prior to a stop at the world’s largest shopping mall. Then, travel through some of the world’s richest farmland on our way to overnight in Grande Prairie.

Day 7 • Fort Nelson, BC: Visit Dawson Creek, BC, today, hitting mile 0 of the Alaskan Highway. Spend the night in charming Fort Nelson. (B)

Day 8 • Watson Lake, YT: Picturesque scenery continues to greet us along the Alaska Highway. Enjoy stops at Steamboat Mountain Summit, Summit Pass, Folded Mountain and Muncho Lake today before a visit to Liard River Hot Springs with 120-degree water! Our home tonight is Watson Lake, YT. (L, D)

Day 9 • Whitehorse, YT: Check out the whimsical Sign Post Forest as we depart Watson Lake. You can even hang a sign yourself! Snap photos at the picturesque Nisutlin Bay Bridge and the world’s largest weathervane on our way to Whitehorse. Here, board the S.S. Klondike historic sternwheeler for a guided tour. Tonight enjoy the Frantic Follies show as we step back to the fun of the gold-rush. (B, L)

Day 10 • Dawson City, YT: Our frontier adventure takes us to Dawson City today. Founded in 1896 at the closest point steamboats could get to the gold fields of Bonanza and Eldorado Creeks, Dawson was originally laid out for a population of 30,000. It is now home to about 1,500 year-round residents. You may strike it rich today panning for gold before checking into our hotel for the night.

Day 11 • Fairbanks, AK: Departing from Dawson City, we catch the George Black Ferry, part of the Yukon Highway system, and take The Top of the World Highway. It is so named because much of its route meanders along the tops of mountains and ridges with endless views. Those driving along this route are able to see beautiful vistas including spectacular valleys. Chicken and Tok are highlights today! We cross the Canada-United States border at Poker Creek, continuing along the Taylor Highway to the town of Chicken. Legend has it that Chicken was named because the original inhabitants could not decide on the spelling of Ptarmigan, a bird similar to the grouse. Enjoy a stop in North Pole to shop at Santa’s Land and a delicious Alaskan salmonbake for dinner. Continue on to Fairbanks for a two-night stay. (BB, D)

Day 12 • River Cruise & City Tour: Board the sternwheeler Riverboat Discovery today for a cruise on the Chena and Tanana Rivers. Learn firsthand about fishwheels, training for the Iditarod and native life at Chena Village. Enjoy free time to explore downtown Fairbanks on your own. There is a great history museum and Iditarod museum here. (L)

Day 13 • Denali National Park, AK: We head for the highest peak on our continent, Mt. McKinley, rising to a height of 20,320 feet. Watch carefully as the summit can be hidden! Then enjoy the afternoon and evening on your own exploring the breathtaking area surrounding our Grand Denali Lodge.


Day 14 • Anchorage, AK: We arise early to board the Denali Tour bus for an exciting wildlife tour through our nation’s most untamed National Park. Anticipate seeing bears, wolves, caribou and maybe Mt. McKinley again (on a clear day)! Tonight arrive in Anchorage for a two-night stay. (B, BL)

Day 15 • Prince William Sound Glacier Cruise: Today ride beside the Turnagain Arm to Whittier where we enjoy a fully narrated glacier cruise through magnificent College Fjord. You are sure to be amazed by the beauty of the ancient glaciers, graceful waterfalls and wildlife. (B, L)

Day 16 • City Tour & Free Time: A morning guided tour of Anchorage, which is home to nearly half the population of Alaska, includes the Beigh-Boggs Visitor Center and a tram ride prior to free time for shopping and sightseeing on your own. Overnight in Wasilla, AK. (B, L, D)

Day 17 • Tok, AK: We depart Anchorage and travel to Palmer with a picture stop at the the Church of 1000 Logs, one of the oldest churches in Alaska. This area is the supply center for the fertile farm-filled Matanuska Valley, which yields two-thirds of the Alaska’s agricultural products. (B, D)

Day 18 • Whitehorse, YT: Today we travel through scenic Canada, through Kluane National Park. The evening is yours to do as desired, in this interesting town. (B)

Day 19 • Skagway, AK: In Fraser, BC, board the White Pass & Yukon Route railroad for a train ride through breathaking panoramas of moutains, glaciers, waterfalls, tunnels and historic sites. Arrive this afternoon in Skagway, AK, "Home of the North Wind." Enjoy this fun-loving town on your own tonight.

Day 20 • Juneau, AK: Enjoy some free time to shop in charming Skagway this morning before setting sail on the FVF Fairweather for Juneau. The capital of Alaska will be our home tonight.

Day 21 • Juneau fun: Enjoy free time today in the capital city.

Day 22 • Inside Passage Cruise: We board the MV Mantanuska today. You will be in awe as we weave through the fjord-like passages and islands of Alaska’s Inside Passage. The breath-taking views make it hard to leave the deck for bed. (Due to limited cabin space, single accommodations may not be available.)

Day 23 • Smithers, BC: Disembark from our gorgeous cruise experience in Prince Rupert. At Ksan Historical Indian Village, learn about the people with a guided tour by a native Gitksan. Then, enjoy pictures stops at beautiful Hagwilget Canyon and Moricetown Falls and Canyon en route to overnight in Smithers. (L)

Day 24 • Jasper, AB: Enjoy a stop at Steelhead Park on our way to beautiful Jasper for overnight.

Day 25 • Calgary, AB: This morning you will marvel at the serene beauty of Lake Louise, one of the most photographed spots in all of Canada. Then thrill to a glacier coach ride on the Columbia Ice Fields. We make a picture stop at the Athabascan Glacier and the spectacular Athabascan Falls before overnight in the second largest city in Alberta. Enjoy dinner and a thrilling view atop the Calgary Tower! (D)

Day 26 • Regina, SK: Enjoy a scenic travel day across southern Saskatchewan. We’ll stop for photos at Chaplin Nature Center and the Potash Plant in Chaplin before overnighting in Regina. (B)

Day 27 • Winnipeg, MB: We tour the Royal Mounted Police Heritage Center this morning before lunch in Indian Head. Snap some pictures at White Horse Monument before overnight in Winnipeg. (B, L)

Day 28 • Duluth, MN: We stop at the impressive Parliament building in Winnipeg, home to 2 1/2-ton bronze bison and beautiful murals. Then, cross the border into the great USA, where Duluth will be our home for the night. (L)

Day 29 • Gaylord, MI: A pleasant travel day to our overnight in Gaylord, MI. (B)

Day 30 • Home: We travel homeward via Frankenmuth, MI where we enjoy our farewell lunch together. We return home mid evening Our beautiful tour ends but our life-long memories of this amazing adventure will live on forever. (B, L)
