Day 1 • Effingham, IL: A scenic travel day through Ohio and Indiana finds us in Illinois for our overnight.

Day 2 • Lawrence, KS: This morning we stop in beautiful St. Louis and take the tram ride up the Jefferson National Expansion Memorial & Gateway Arch - our Gateway to the West. See how their beer is made and meet the famous Clydesdales at the Anheuser-Busch Brewery before departing for Kansas, where we overnight. (B)

Day 3 • Denver, CO: A scenic travel day Westward takes us to the Mile High City, our home tonight. (B)

Day 4 • Dillon, CO: Tour the gold-domed Colorado State Capitol this morning prior to a visit to the Molly Brown House Museum. The “unsinkable” philanthropist made her home here and exhibits share her remarkable life. Overnight in Dillon. (B)

Day 5 • Montrose, CO: We start our day on the Leadville Colorado and Southern Railroad Train. This scenic trip provides grand sights, relaxation and history. Travel to Montrose for overnight. (B)

Day 6 • Durango, CO: Take in the amazing view of the Black Canyon of the Gunnison from Lookout Visitor Center prior to free time in downtown Ouray. Climb aboard the Durango & Silverton Narrow Gauge Railroad for a ride through the wilderness along the Animas River. Overnight in Durango. (B)

Day 7 • Mesa Verde National Park, CO: Take a look into the lives of the ancestral Pueblo people and prehistoric America at Mesa Verde National Park. Our guide shows us the Pre-Columbia cliff dwellings preserved in the caves of many canyon walls. Enjoy a Bar D Chuckwagon dinner. (B, L, D)

Day 8 • Alamosa, CO: This morning, board the Cumbres & Toltec Scenic Railroad in Chama, NM and travel east to Antonito, stopping for lunch at Osier train station. Overnight in Alamosa. (B, L, D)

Day 9 • Colorado Springs, CO: Dine aboard the Royal Gorge Route Railroad for lunch and a stunning train ride through the canyon. Our hotel the next two nights is the Drury Inn in Colorado Springs. (B, L)

Day 10 • Air Force Academy: This morning, visit the U.S. Air Force Academy Visitor Center and learn about the cadet training program and the academy’s history. This afternoon is yours to do as you choose in Colorado Springs prior to included dinner. (B, D)

Day 11 • Golden, CO: We “ride to the clouds” this morning for the view that inspired the writer of “America the Beautiful.” Ride the Cog Railway (the world’s highest cog railroad) to the top of Pikes Peak. Enjoy the Garden of the Gods Trading Post for unique shopping and lunch. Then take a guided tour through the beautiful Garden of the Gods. Overnight in Golden. (B, L)

Day 12 • Lincoln, NE: Today finds us at The Great Platte River Road Archway Monument in Kearney, NE. Upon arrival, we are greeted by a costumed actor that guides us through a historical show of the evolution of the American West. Enjoy a themed dinner before we travel to Lincoln, NE for overnight. (B, D)

Day 13 •  Davenport, IA: Learn about Air Force missiles and vehicles with a guided tour at the Strategic Air Command and Aerospace Museum prior to heading to our hotel in Davenport. (B)

Day 14 • Home: Enjoy a farewell lunch on the last leg of our journey, returning home with amazing tales of riding the rails of Colorado!  (B, L)
